Chapter 157 - Revolutionary Race
\'They\'ve assumed my method of spying on them as well, not that they would let their guard down because of it but it can give me a few options to confuse them in the future\'
He had to applaud Gremm for that, the feline actually managed to think up an entire conspiracy on his own, though to be fair the shackles were indeed to be used for hiding the undead aura, only it was for Anput however and not the shadows
\'Then again this eliminates the possibility of using the shadows for reconnaissance, a necessary loss as lies without a bit of truth never hold\'
Thinking up to here he turned to the parasite munching on some fruits in its Scitoc form, the parasite was indeed good with words, while having hardly any information it managed to lead Gremm into exposing his new allegiance without leaving any doubts in his mind
Seeing its master stare at it the parasite turned to stare back, remembering something as their gazes met
"Was that Master\'s voice in my head earlier?"
"Yes"
"It felt much like when my parent used to communicate with me"
"That\'s because our connection is of similar nature, to your \'parent\' you are a sub-body, your soul is part of the original parasite, while to me you are a soul-slave, a part of my soul resides in you and vice versa"
The parasite was silent upon hearing this, pondering over whether or not to ask the possibility plaguing its mind,
This did not escape YuJu\'s notice, and he shared what he thought was the answer to the questions in its head
"The similarities end there, I don\'t need to absorb you when you mature so I can evolve"
The parasite instantly heaved a sigh of relief, looks like it wasn\'t back to being food, though its freedom was still chained
"Even if I could it would be stupid to evolve, humans have the most potential among all known races"
"?" "Is that so Master" "Awuwu?"
This time all three wore confused expressions with Ellis being the most intrigued, after all she was the only other human here, and her mind always wandered to what her fellow kin were doing
YuJu nodded his head, shedding a bit more light on the matter
"Remember when I said that merger type classes were the worst?"
The question was aimed at Ellis who nodded her head quickly, it still confused her to this day why her master had a merger class when they were supposedly the worst type
"The reason for that is because a boosted single class is much weaker than a combined class, and that stands true almost all the time, only being false when it came to humans"
A small smile donned his face, a little pride showing through it as he looked upon the three anticipating servants of his and the listening maids
"Because humans, unlike other races, can have more than two classes"
A bomb, that\'s what this news was, sadly only the parasite and maids were left shaken, Ellis had no clue how many classes one was supposed to have to begin with while Anput was occupied rubbing against his thigh, apparently this was what she was so antsy to do...
\'Well, no matter, the point got across\'
His objective wasn\'t enlightening his servants, it was allowing the maids who would deliver this shocking info to Aminta to hear
\'Should be enough to have her attention focused on the human race, I merely need to guide her sight toward the morally acceptable ones\'
As counterproductive as it was to have his race under the spotlight when it was yet to grow he still needed Aminta\'s eyes on them, if the Vanguard could be forged before the original date in the past then much can be accomplished
\'This time I won\'t hide the matter from the rest of the humans like I did before, that was a really bad move on my part\'
To this day he wished he\'d not been so conceited when offering to become the sole member of his race in the Vanguard, maybe if he had more comrades then one of the strongest alliances in the Infidome wouldn\'t have met that tragic end....
Shaking the thought out of his head he focused back on the present, where no such tragedy would be allowed, an entire army of trustworthy creatures would be built to make sure of that
"Do all races get limited to two classes but us Master?"
"Yes Ellis"
"Then doesn\'t that mean there could also be combined classes that are made from more than two classes as well?"
"Good question, there are such things but not only are they bothersome to achieve but can also be weaker than a merger class, for one, a combinable class cannot be made until you acquire all the needed classes, meaning you would be stuck with the relatively weaker classes that couldn\'t be advanced or improved until you have reached the level needed to gather them all, secondly, the resultant class may not even compare to a merger class that has been boosted over and over again, rendering all your efforts wasted in front of such class owners"
"Then, why didn\'t I get a merger class Master?"
A forum could be seen forming on her face, has she lost such a grand chance for the power that she holds?
"A good class is useless in the hands of a talentless owner, do you think you could have made use of them with your problem?"
The question slapped her back to reality, she was a cripple if not for her aura, so it\'s bore her no good thinking about other classes
\'Didn\'t he only recently know about my situation?\'
She wondered, the question not leaving her thoughts in case another harsh awakening came with it
As the two finished conversing the other listeners were finally snapped out of it
The parasite once more returned to its deep thoughts, thinking if ways it could try and imitate the human race and acquire this unheard of talent
The maids on the other hand wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible, this was beyond major news, this was revolutionary, if the human race really had such capabilities then it was of importance to befriend or end them, otherwise the entirety of Hortus might meet a threat unlike any before it
They could only wait to be dismissed however, though they suspected, almost sure, YuJu knew what they were there for and that this might be bait information they could only play along, acting like dutiful servants
Thankfully he didn\'t make things hard for them, sending them away soon after this reveal which they hurried to report
The meeting hall that had just fallen silent after a round of discussions between Aminta and her two generals was disturbed once more with Latvia frantically conveying the findings
"More than one class? That is hard to believe"
"I agree commander, could he be luring our eyes to his race for some reason?"
"Hmm, don\'t be so quick to judge"
Verbrand wasn\'t as disbelieving as them
"What have we not seen? The Astral Events alone carry uncountable mysteries, one great advantage to a new race isn\'t as unbelievable"
"This is not a single advantage, the things one could do with multiple classes is endless, the power humans would have at the tips of their hands would break the balance"
Latvia argued, only for Verband to remind her that there existed no balance in the ever changing Infidome, something she seemed to forgo after living for centuries safe and sound in this tower
"It is very hard to believe his claims, yet I find them more credible when I recall his mastery over blood, space, stealth, and foresight, if there was anyway to explain how someone from such a new seemingly weak race acquired all this power then this is one possible explanation"
Aminta added, remaining skeptical but not dismissing the idea all together
"Should we acquire some humans to test this on?"
Aminta nodded but then thought for a second and shook her head
"I will send Kyth\'s subordinates to retrieve some from their lands, I need your attention focused on YuJu and Genus Insania"
"As you wish commander"
Latvia thought it was a waste of time but could only comply, who told her to allow such incompetence, tunnels being built in her land and people sneaking under her nose, there was no one to blame but herself
"And if humans really could acquire multiple classes?"
Verbrand suddenly asked
".....We will come to that when the truth is revealed"
"I see"
Reluctance, a trait he rarely ever saw in this iron ruler, somehow Aminta had changed, at least when things concerned that rancid new general
\'Change isn\'t always bad, hopefully this is time it\'s for the better\'
